Owing to its numerous islets, Sibenik Rivieraa number of national parks and nature reserves and a true wealth of historical monuments, the Šibenik Riviera is a real jewel of North Dalmatia. The relatively small area of the Šibenik Riviera harbours no less than two national parks: The Krka National Park will offer you the exquisite beauty of the Krka Canyon along with numerous lakes and waterfalls created by the river itself and the Kornati National Park, consisting of 140 islands, islets and reefs, will enchant you with extraordinary sights of stone and sea and sounds of silence. The Šibenik archipelago offers wonderfully intact nature with 249 islands, islets and reefs. Most of them are not inhabited. The few populated islands of the archipelago still preserve the authentic Mediterranean way of life.

Riviera di SibenikIf you visit the centre of the town of Šibenik, its fortresses, monuments and numerous churches, you will feel the influences of different cultures which are closely interwoven in this Riviera and considerably add to its beauty and charm today. The Šibenik Riviera and the island of Murter are well-known for a traditional event called Big game fishing where you can participate in the tuna and swordfish hunt. The town of Primošten is located on an island, where the inhabitants built a bridge to the mainland 5 centuries ago, so they could reach the fields they worked. Sailors call the town a “Dry point” because of long dry periods without rain. The town of Vodice was once a city stronghold that protected its citizens from Turkish invaders, but is now a tourist destination known for its liveliness. The Šibenik Riviera with its natural and the historic surroundings offers numerous possibilities for trips to all areas of the region, marine activates and other forms of recreation.


Kornati
In the central part Bosaof the Croatian part of the Adriatic sea, almost parallel to the coastline, a unique archipelago of the Kornati islands is scattered. The archipelago covers an area of 300km2 with 148 islands and islets in total surface of 62km2 and it’s one of the favourite destinations for sailing cahrters and motor luxury rental yacht charters. Because of its unique natural beauty, numerous bays and coves, preserved nature and extremely rich sea ecosystem, bigger part of these island comprise a National Park founded in 1980. This Park cover an area of 220km2 and comprises 89 islands and islets and the coastal length parallel to it is 185km. The islands were named after the biggest of the islands - island Kornat.

Kornati IslandsThere is no electricity or drinkable water and the land is mostly barren although long ago they were covered with the Mediterranean oak forrests. People from Murter island cultivate small fields in lime stone valleys where they grow olives, figs and wine grapes. Besides the agriculture. On the island sheep can be found as well as the bee hives. The Adriatic sea belongs to the bluest seas in the world. The colour of this sea is almost unbelievable. Crystal clearness of the sea enables you to see the sea bottom with its various shapes: crevices, holes, caves, red coral, shells and many sorts of fish. This National Park is unavoidable destination for all the sailors who can found safe haven in marinas on the islands of Zut and Piskera. Krka
Krka was declared a national Krkapark in 1985. The river Krka is a rocky phenomenon which, as it flows towards the sea, forms a number of lakes, waterfalls and rapids. The National Park Krka spreads over a surface of 142 km2 and 25.6 km2 of the park is covered in water. The River Krka is the result of larger streams joining together near Knin making one large flowing river. Krka is enriched with smaller and larger waterfalls. Twenty kilometres downstream from Knin is a 20m high waterfall called Bilusic, then Brljan 15m high, Manojlovac 52m, and Roski 25m. On the island Visovac is the Visovac Lake which is located in between two of the Park's most beautiful waterfalls - Roski and Skradinski buk - where a Franciscan monastery with its valuable library is situated.

Krka Skradinski buk are picturesque waterfalls on the River Krka and they cascade over 17 rocky barriers - the highest being 45m. Within the National Park Krka is also the Krka monastery, the mediaeval strongholds of Trosenj and Necven as well as the picturesque ancient town of Skradin. Within the River Krka around 18 species of fish dwell, 10 of which are endemic. Fot the vast number of birds in the National Park Krka makes one of the most ornithologically valuable regions in Europe. Visitors can take a swim in the River Krka as well as take a ride up-river to the Roski waterfall, through the canyon channels where some of the canyons are up to 200m high, and to Lake Visovac with its little island.

Murter
MURTER, is a village in Murterthe north-western part of the island of Murter. It was first called Veliko Selo (from the 13th c.) and Srimac (Srimac); it got its present name in 1715. Murter stretches toward the cove of Hramina, which houses a marina, and toward the cove of Slanica. The cove of Hramina is well protected from all kinds of winds and provides good shelter for smaller yachts; the cove of Slanica features a public beach. Economy is based on farming, viticulture, fishing and tourism. Murter has almost ideal conditions for tourism: nice sunny beaches, Murterquality accomodation and various services is only one part that makes Murter one of the most visited destinations in this region for years. Murter and its wider surroundings are also an ideal place for bareboat sailing charters, they are inevitable stop for yachtsmen who can use 350 berths and 170 places on the marina's premises, service workshops and all the necessary facilities. Pirovac
Pirovac is a small town Pirovac23km north of Sibenik and lies in the Pirovac inlet. Pirovac is popular for its developed nautical tourism because of its many inlets where visitors can set anchor and enjoy the town's untouched nature. Stinica, Vrulje, Vrilo, and Makirina are just some of the inlets which surround Pirovac with their beautiful beaches and clear blue sea. The mud found in the inlet of Makirina is a healing agent which tourists can make use of. Just 5km north of Pirovac lays the Park of nature Lake Vransko which is an ideal place for sailing yacht charters and also sports fishing.

Pirovac The townspeople’s main occupations are fishing, growing olive trees and producing olive oil. Along with these occupations, they also offer accommodation (apartments and rooms). Of course for best way to visit pirovac is sailing vacation on board on sailboat or ketch or gulet. Owning to the stream which circulates around the bay, the water here is approximately 3 to 4 grades Celsius warmer than average along the Adriatic coast. Along the bay of Pirovac there are many inlets, sandy beaches and the islet of St. Stephen (Sustipanac ) situated westwards. Pirovac is ideal starting point for unforgettable excursions to the Kornati Archipelago and river Krka.

Primosten
Primosten is the attractive Primostentourist small town, with natural gravel and rocky beaches (the most popular are those on the peninsula Raduca) and with clean sea, which is protected from being polluted by a modern system for purification so it satisfies even the highest ecological standards. Primosten is a perfect destination for chartering a sail boat or a luxury gulet in Croatia, the city and the harbour is protected from the northerly winds and has a very mild climate. The coves of Vela and Mala Raduca, Primosten and Peles feature large beaches. In 30-odd villages and hamlets of Primosten Burnji, in the hinterland of Primosten, tourists are offered board and lodging.

PrimostenVery interesting is a large selection of home-made food: prosciutto, cheese in olive oil, lamb, roasted meat, wholesome and macrobiotic food - chickpea, olive oil, lentils, and other traditional dishes. Traditional jobs in agriculture and fishing are still the main occupation of the inhabitants but the tourism has become a tradition already because of natural characteristics of Primosten like: the unique Mediterranean atmosphere created by the closely built stone houses in numerous narrow streets, crystal clear sea, crickets singing, shady pine forests and the beaches fully equipped for pleasure and enjoyment.

Sibenik
Sibenik, a city and port Sibenikin northern Dalmatia, not far from the estuary of the Krka river into the Bay of Sibenik, connected by narrow straits with the Sibenik Channel. The city is arranged amphitheatrically around the natural harbour and on the surrounding hill slopes. The climate is mild. The average air temperature in January is 6.5°C and 24.2°C in July; around 2,750 hours of sunshine a year. Economy is based on industry (non-ferrous metals, aluminium), textiles and food processing as well as on shipbuilding and tourism.

Skradin
Skradin is a small town Skradinlocated on the coastline of the river Krka and 16km away from the city of Sibenik. Here guests can enjoy swimming in the river Krka as well as at the mouth of the river which flows into the sea. Because of the mix of fresh water and saltwater, Skradin is known for its variety in seafood including fish and seashells as the town's inhabitants have a long fishing tradition. Skradin's many restaurants and taverns offer a wide variety of delicacies and each guest will be sure to try some of the specialties Dalmatian cuisine has to offer.
